Holotropic Breathwork (Experiential)
Thursday, May 26, 2022
9:00 am – 7:00 pm
Cost: $325 CAD
This full day workshop is an immersive experience using both theoretical and embodied learning for reorienting to the self as the source of healing, while also cultivating skills for working with others in non-ordinary states of consciousness.
Holotropic Breathwork was developed by Stanislav Grof, a pioneer of psychedelic research, and his late wife Christina Grof, as a powerful approach to self-exploration that relies on our innate personal wisdom and its capacity to move us toward positive transformation and wholeness. Acknowledging, accessing and supporting the inner healing intelligence and impulse in each individual is the foundation of this work.
The process itself is simple, but valuable instruction and direct experience with the roles that music, breath, somatic expression, and skillful support play in the quality of a session offers a unique workshop opportunity that can be both personally rich and professionally valuable. This event is open to people of heart, clinicians and non-clinicians alike. No previous experience is necessary, however, you must be able to attend the whole day.
Stacia Butterfield (teacher) was certified as a Holotropic Breathwork practitioner in 2005, and joined the Grof Transpersonal Training staff in 2006. She has been studying and working closely with Tav Sparks and Stanislav Grof since that time, bringing Holotropic Breathwork and the healing potential of non-ordinary states to a variety of academic and professional settings, including The Fetzer Institute, Kripalu, Tel Aviv University, Sophia, Bullet Proof, and the MAPS Psychedelic Science 2013 & 2017 conferences. She is also a teacher with Grof Transpersonal Training, regularly facilitating six-day residential retreats in California and Connecticut.
Over twenty years of body centered studies have informed Stacia’s approach to integration of deep inner work and led to innovative roles in the Addictions and Transformational Medicine fields. She offered integrative classes at Healing Visions, an early Ibogaine clinic in the British West Indies; and has also made contributions to the MAPS MDMA Therapy Training Program and the Ketamine Training Center. In addition to her Bay Area workshops, Stacia enjoys working privately with groups of educators, artists, and optimizers.
